Rituals of a Yogic Variety

I. Copy-yoga

The process of copying a picture, if sufficiently complex, will free the mind from the conception of time. This method is rather simplistic yet nearly always effective (I recall drawing sessions that lasted as long as eight hours!)!

II. "As above, so Below"

The process is similar to the aforementioned method except the picture being copied is reversed (turned 'upside down' hence the name "As above, so Below."). The advantage of this technique is it does not allow the mind to wander. The image is unique, so the mind must focus (Dharana).

III. Contour

The essence of this practice is to only focus on the subject. If drawing, this implies never looking at the paper. However several methods of contour drawing have been described: modified contour (glancing every so often at the page), pure contour (never looking away from the subject).
